KLAAK PHOTOGRAPHY
Curiosity and presence in culture, space and silence
My photography explores our deep attachment to the land and the sea, where we come from, and our place in the world. I study the cycle of decay, resilience and vulnerability that shapes our cultural and spiritual existence.
In order to create stillness within the elements, I chose a slow, introspective workflow. My intention is to ground the viewer with a balanced, calm composition.
I mainly use a Rolleiflex 6x6 medium format film camera, mounted on a tripod with a cable release.
Being a trained laser scientist, I work with the creation of qualities of light that most people never get to imagine. In my photography, I capture the serene light that tells stories of being human in this universe. It's the poetic and spiritual counterpart to my structured life.
